The policy behind United States bankruptcy law is to allow an honest debtor to start anew without financial burden.  In Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, most debts are dischargeable including medical bills, loans, credit card purchases and cash advances, and many judgments.  However, there are exceptions.  Please refer to the U.S. Bankruptcy code to find these exceptions. Moving forward, please consult a Bankruptcy attorney to determine the proper course of action.
